President's Message
Shizuoka Sangyo University is composed of three departments, the School of Management, the School of Information Studies, and the Faculty of Sport Science, and the student roll is 1,828. Our university is striving for state-of-the-art education and we are devoting ourselves to advancing the specialized professional career education that industrial societies and international societies of the 21st century are seeking. Our university has campuses in Iwata City and Fujieda City, and we place a great deal of importance on close exchanges with the people of the region.
We have a wealth of international exchanges, as we have signed agreements with universities in New Zealand, Korea, China, Vietnam, and other countries. Foreign exchange students who come to our university through agreements with overseas universities study with us in short-term foreign exchanges or double-degree programs.
In addition, there are also about 196 foreign students who are enrolled in our university and who come to us through Japanese-language schools in Japan.
After graduating, many of our students go on to study at Japanese graduate schools or to find work at Japanese companies. It is characteristic for many of our foreign students to choose Japanese companies that have ties with their home countries as their places of employment and as a result, a large number of our graduates are active in forming bridges between Japan and their home countries.
The foreign students at our university deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and improve their Japanese-language abilities through exchanges with our Japanese students, exchanges with other foreign students, and exchanges with elementary schools and people in the region. We are aware that these kinds of exchange activities not only leave them with fond memories of their foreign studies but also serve them in their personal growth.
At Shizuoka Sangyo University, we strive to nurture talented persons who can play an active role not only in Japan but overseas as well. We welcome foreign students to our university.
